Faye’s Fall Fashion Faves

Faye’s Fall Fashion Faves

Fall is my favorite time of year. While I love the summer and going to the beach, the minute the air changes and I get a hint of that crispness that comes with Fall, I feel alive. Maybe it’s ingrained in me since my school days. Going back to school was always something I anticipated with joy. I was a nerd. I loved the smell of pencils and books and shopping for school supplies and school clothes. September always marked the start of the year for me, way more than January 1st. That’s why I so enjoy shopping for new clothes in the Fall. It’s a chance to finally feel dressed again. Here are some of my favorite things this season, and where I can, I have included a more affordable alternative. Keep in mind, if you’re trying to shop sustainable items, it’s is going to cost you more. But we can’t all afford that, so if there’s something you love, I’ve tried to provide an affordable version.

The Witch Boot

From Coach

I remember wearing a version of these back in the 80s with my Gunne Sax dresses and my prairie skirts. I loved them. The height of the boots and the heel height make them super comfortable and super versatile. Also, they work for ALL calf sizes and having thick calves, I understand the joy of finding boots that fit. They also come in brown, but come on, Witch boots should be black. Here’s a more affordable option.

Faux Leather Leggings

They look great with a big, cozy sweater or a denim shirt. They also look good with a tunic. The Spanx ones are smoothing and lifting, but here’s a more affordable option.

The Wrap Sweater

The color says Fall and it’s cozy warm and versatile. Pair it with the faux leather leggings for a rock chic look, jeans for a casual look or dress it up with a flowy skirt. No affordable option needed as this baby is on sale.

The Skull Sweater

Skull Sweater by Wooden Ship Knits

Wooden Ship Knits makes the softest, coziest, comfiest sweaters. I bought my first one at a little boutique when we first moved to RI. I adore it and wear it every winter. I love the skull print, especially for October, but they have lots of other options if skulls aren’t your thing. Pair it with the faux leather leggings and these boots. Here’s a more affordable version.

The Leopard Print Blazer

No affordable alternative needed. Comes in sizes up to XXL. Pair it with jeans as shown, the faux leather leggings or over a dress. Pulls together an outfit in seconds.

The Faux Leather Skirt

I love the cut of this faux leather skirt. Its just different enough to add interest to an all-black outfit. Or, pair it with the leopard blazer for a different look.

The Work Dress

Printed Paisley Dress from Zara

This is a great, affordable piece to wear to work. The colors and print really make it feel perfect for Fall. Pair it with some high suede boots.

The Slip Dress

Remember the slip dresses from the 90s? This is an updated version you can wear to work with a cardigan or a crewneck sweater over it or wear out on it’s own.

The Flats

While Fall is definitely boot season, a good pair of easy to slip on flats are a must. They go with dresses and pants and are easy to wear – no socks needed. My very own design, the Cougar leopard print flats are custom made to your size in Italy. Use this code for $30 Off: RQGFJJVWGUV. I love, love, love this skull flat from Alexander McQueen. They give any outfit an edge. Sam Edelman’s loafers are sleek and comfortable and look great with slim cropped pants at the office and jeans.

Happy shopping!
