Happy New Year! I’m hoping to have more time to dedicate to The Faye Files this year. And I’d like to take the time to start the new year by sharing some of my favorite things with you.
The new year means everyone is resolving to get fit, get into shape, workout more, etc. There are many high-end brands out there for workout wear. I like Fabletics for several reasons: I don’t live in my workout clothes, I only workout in them, therefore I don’t want to spend a fortune on them. BUT, I do want them to be stylish, beautiful and COMFORTABLE. Fabletics achieves all of the above, PLUS, they come in plus sizes. I’m happy to say I don’t need the plus sizes anymore (thanks to the KetoDiet), but I can’t abide a brand that doesn’t cater to every size. After all, how dumb is it from a brand standpoint to alienate a whole section of the population who could be customers? And what message are you sending the overweight by not making clothes to fit them? It’s discouraging, at best, and bullying at worst. There are certain workout brands I wouldn’t buy even if I were able to fit into their sizing. I love that you can buy sets at Fabletics, like the one I’m wearing above, which I got on sale for less than $30 – complete set.
I’ve been experimenting with new beauty products and I’ve got to say, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, yes, THAT Rihanna, is one of my new favorite beauty lines. Pictured here, right to left, is the Killawatt Foil highlighter palette you can use on eyes, cheeks as a highlighter or for contouring; Glossbomb lip gloss in Fussy; Fairy Bomb shimmering powder in 24KRAY and the Moroccan Spice eyeshadow palette. Everything is high quality, rich, and best of all, has not irritated my skin. Look for a post featuring face shots so you can see the colors in action.
Rihanna also has a lingerie line I’ve become a big fan of. I needed new bras, thank you Keto Diet, and I wanted something pretty and different. I love the styles, the fit and the quality of this line. And, again, the fact that they cater to PLUS sizes.
Add an edge to your outfits. These killer pumps can really hurt someone if you’re not careful. I love their solid construction and they’re surprisingly easy to wear for long periods of time.
A hearty, yummy Greek dish for winter that’s Keto friendly. I made a few modifications – added mushrooms to bulk it up since we can’t serve it with pasta or potatoes, and used vermouth instead of cognac and red wine. The depth of flavor and the warmth was unbelievable.
